3.1. Detailed Scope of Work to be performed by the Contractor shall include the following:
Introduction and Background
Vale Inco Newfoundland and Labrador Limited (VINL) has implemented an Environmental Effects Monitoring (EEM) Program associated with its mine and concentrator operation in Labrador in accordance with its EEM Plan. Monitoring targets in the marine environment are water quality, sediment quality, fish and benthic macro invertebrates.
This request for proposals describes the scope of work that a consultant would undertake to address the marine monitoring program in the VINL EEM Plan for 2010 to 2012.
The consultant’s proposal will describe the proposed study design and methodology and the schedule to conduct the study. Relevant experience and expertise of all study members must be provided. The proposal will also identify local aboriginal involvement in the study.
