Commercial Nickel Processing Plant

VBNC is approaching a new wave of hiring, for the construction and operations phases of the commercial nickel processing plant in Long Harbour. It is estimated that up to 3000 people will be required during the construction phase, of which VBNC expects that approximately 85 per cent would be filled by the labour force in this province. During operations, the plant will require approximately 400 full-time positions.

“Looking ahead, VBNC remains committed to maximizing local employment at the commercial plant, with a preference for hiring from adjacent communities as much as possible,” said Don Stevens, General Manager of the commercial nickel processing plant. “Inspired by our success at the Demonstration Plant, we will strive to achieve gender diversity at the commercial plant as well.”
