All employees working at VBNC construction sites are required to wear CSA-approved hard hats, vests, and safety glasses.
We worked with contractors and engineering and construction management teams in 2003 to develop and implement an effective health and safety program. Over approximately one million hours worked in 2003, VBNC’s lost time injury frequency rate was 0.5, exceeding construction industry averages in Newfoundland and Labrador. We are continuing to audit and enhance our strong safety program to ensure that it remains as effective as the project moves forward.
